A Message from Sue Daniels, Candidate for the NTPUD Board

When you gave me your trust to represent you on the NTPUD Board I promised the NTPUD would keep rates low, build locally owned facilities, and represent the interests of the Community.

I am proud to have participated in the NTPUD’s real accomplishments on behalf of our community.

Here are some of the highlights:

• The NTPUD’s water and sewer rates are among the lowest at Tahoe, while rebuilding and restoring aging lines and facilities.

• The NTPUD completed the Tahoe Vista Recreation Area offering recreation opportunities to the public.

• The NTPUD added a children’s playground to our Regional Park and soon will have a new grant-funded community-owned dog park added to the tennis courts, soccer and ball fields.

• The NTPUD is refurbishing the Event Center to make it more marketable and reduce operating costs.

• The NTPUD is building new base facilities to meet ADA standards at no cost to the ratepayer.

I ask for your vote for future accomplishments including:
• I am working towards completion of the new dog park.

• I am working to create new ways the Parks and Recreation department can bring in the revenue it needs to stay solvent.

• My goal is to provide our youth with a superior water and sewer system that is state of the art and will last well into their lifetimes. When it comes to drinking water sources, I believe Tahoe's natural environment is sacred and our clean water should be protected by our NTPUD for all to enjoy for years to come.

• As a local resident for 56 years and independent local business person for 40 years I understand the impact of the economic downturn and the need for fiscal responsibility.

• As a business person and not a governmental employee I bring an unbiased, open minded and community service approach to the Board.

I will continue to work towards maintaining and improving our water, sewer and parks facilities at the lowest possible community cost. This will result in higher property values and benefit all of us.

Your vote is important. Please vote on November 4. I would appreciate your continued support.
